接触性皮膚炎とは、皮膚に触れた物質が刺激やアレルギー反応を起こすことによって起こる皮膚の炎症の一種です。接触性皮膚炎の症状としては、赤い発疹や隆起、乾燥、ひび割れ、火傷のような赤い斑点、痛みや圧痛などがあります。接触性皮膚炎には、刺激性皮膚炎とアレルギー性皮膚炎の2種類があります。最も多いのは、酸や石鹸・洗剤などのアルカリ性物質、柔軟剤、溶剤などの化学物質との接触で起こる刺激性皮膚炎です。通常、火傷のような状態になります。アレルギー性接触皮膚炎は、アレルゲンに対するアレルギー反応によって起こるかゆみを伴う皮膚疾患です。治療には、強いかゆみを和らげるために、副腎皮質ホルモンや抗ヒスタミン薬の内服が必要です。
